Lara’s fascination with images began in childhood, when she staged her dolls in imagined scenes and photographed them with disposable cameras. The discovery that her grandfather had built a career as a documentary photographer in the 1950s gave those early experiments a sense of continuity and inheritance. 

In 2013 Lara moved to New York City to pursue her vision. A year later she opened a photography book and the first image she encountered was one of her grandfather’s photographs. The experience was both grounding and affirming, a moment that clarified the path she was already on. 

Light is at the center of Lara’s practice. She approaches it as both subject and structure, shaping her work in photography and directing with precision and sensitivity. This perspective has led to collaborations with clients including Redken, Lancôme, Shiseido, Clé de Peau Beauté, and Negative Underwear. 

Her images are marked by an intimacy with light and a pursuit of beauty that feels both contemporary and lasting.
